Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

We are looking for a Ruby on Rails developer who is analytical, pays meticulous attention to detail, is highly organized, and has excellent communication skills. This position will be tasked to assist with creating new API endpoints to integrate several different applications with the client's internal application. It requires ability to work effectively with engineering teams and project managers to identify needed areas of focus, risks, quality, processes, testing, and tools. 

Our customer is one of the world's largest technology companies based in Silicon Valley with operations all over the world. On this project, we are working with bleeding-edge big data technologies to develop a high-performance data analytics platform, which handles petabytes of data. 

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design and development of high-performance business applications, from requirements analysis to production.
• Continuously improve software quality (evaluate and incorporate new libraries, tools, and technologies; conduct code reviews; perform refactoring; carry out testing, etc.).
• Analyze and enhance application performance.
• Seek simple and robust solutions to complex tasks.
• Work in an Agile methodology environment where innovation, teamwork, and creativity are keys to success.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of working experience with Ruby and RoR.
• Working experience with any other programming languages/frameworks (preferably JS, React).
• Experience in REST API development, TDD using RSpec, LDAP, PostgreSQL.
• B2+ (Upper-Intermediate and higher) level of English proficiency, both verbally and in written communication.

Nice to have experience with:

• ElasticSearch / OpenSearch
• Redis
• Apache Kafka
• Docker
• Ansible
• infrastructure tools and their APIs (NetApp ONTAP, VMware vSphere/vCenter, etc)
